Incarnation

Just as, in aeons past, the divine fiat

pierced the silent abyss of nihil

and actualized all that is . . .

Just as the holy voice heralded,

not just a, but the beginning,

and it was so . . .

Just as, from the womb of time,

he summoned the light,

and, with a word, sent darkness into retreat . . .

So, in the fullness of time,

an infant’s cry pierced the silent Judean night,

and the world was born again,

the story began once more,

and darkness surrendered.

This time for good.
